Chew graduated from Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) with an LL.B (Hons) and is the founder of Chew & Co. He is a distinguished litigator with extensive experience in civil and commercial disputes, having acted for individual clients as well as reputable corporate entities in a broad range of complex and sensitive legal matters.
His practice encompasses breach of contract, defamation, land and property disputes, corporate and shareholder disputes, debt recovery, professional negligence, insolvency proceedings, employment and industrial relations matters, estate and inheritance disputes, and matrimonial matters. His broad experience across different areas of law enables him to assess disputes from both legal and commercial perspectives and develop strategies that are appropriate to the circumstances and objectives of each matter. He takes a measured approach to contentious matters, carefully evaluating the merits, risks, potential outcomes and costs before advising clients on the available courses of action. Where litigation is not necessarily the most appropriate or proportionate option, he advises clients accordingly and considers alternative avenues for resolving the matter. This allows clients to make informed decisions having regard to both their legal position and their wider commercial or personal interests.
Beyond litigation, Chew advises companies on corporate and regulatory matters and serves as a company secretary, with experience in corporate governance, statutory compliance and regulatory requirements. His practice also encompasses corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and other commercial arrangements, allowing him to provide clients with advice that takes into account both contentious and transactional considerations.

Qiao Dan graduated from the University of Malaya, Malaysia’s leading university, with an LL.B (Hons) in 2017. She was awarded the Syed Kechik Gold Medal for Jurisprudence in recognition of her academic achievement. She is a transactional lawyer with extensive experience in corporate and commercial matters, real estate, and banking and finance.
Her practice encompasses corporate transactions and exercises. She has advised and acted for private and public companies in matters including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and transfers of listing from the ACE Market to the Main Market. She also regularly advises on a wide range of commercial transactions and arrangements, including share sales, business acquisitions, asset sales, joint ventures, partnerships, investment management agreements, licensing and franchising arrangements, as well as other commercial and strategic business arrangements.
Qiao Dan has substantial experience in real estate matters, acting for both domestic and international clients in a broad range of property transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, subsales, leases and tenancies. She has particular experience in significant property transactions and transactions involving non-standard or bespoke arrangements, where she advises on the structuring and documentation of the transaction to address the parties’ specific commercial requirements.
She also regularly advises property developers on the legal aspects of their projects and developments, including the preparation and drafting of master agreements and other transaction and project documentation. She provides practical and commercially focused advice throughout the various stages of property development, from structuring and documentation through to completion.
Qiao Dan also has extensive experience in banking and finance, having acted for reputable financial institutions in a broad range of corporate and commercial financing transactions encompassing both conventional and Islamic financing. She is particularly experienced in handling high-value and complex financing transactions, including the preparation and negotiation of financing and security documentation involving sophisticated security arrangements.
